Preparation

Before creating a slideshow video, it is essential to determine its ideal duration, primarily if it is meant for a specific event where the audience is captivated, such as a birthday or anniversary party. While engaging your audience is essential, it's equally important not to make the video too long, as that may cause them to lose interest.

For instance, a good rule of thumb for events like birthdays, anniversaries, and wedding receptions is to keep the video between 10-15 minutes. This translates to using an average of 10-12 pictures per minute. So, for a 10-12 minute video, you should consider using about 100 photos.

When selecting the right music for your slideshow, you don't have to be too precise, as you can trim music tracks to fit the number of pictures used. However, a helpful guideline is to use 25-35 images per song that is about 3-4 minutes long. Choosing a sequence of photos and a song to match will help keep the project manageable and ensure a seamless flow.
